I have gotten a lot of questions about the ballistic vest lately so I thought I drop a quick line about it. The ballistic vest is a support strike package killstreak reward and it’s actually pretty decent in terms of getting some easy XP. In case you are not aware, the support strike package goes up to 18 kills, does not reset on death, and killstreak rewards count towards the total (maxes out at 18 and then starts over).

When you obtain the ballistic vest reward using the support strike package you are given a ballistic vest that you can drop anywhere on the map and other players on your team can pick up and use (similar to an airdrop crate but it has multiple uses). Everytime a player picks up the vest you get 50xp. Not bad and easy xp if you place it well. The ballistic vest gives a player a little extra health until they die.

The ballistic vest is not a huge advantage but it can mean the difference between life and death in an encounter that is close (which a lot of mine are).  Do I use it in my support strike package build? No. Did I when I didn’t have much unlocked? Yes. In short, easy xp and if properly placed the ballistic vest can help the team.
